2009 has been a great year for many players in the NBA. Many teams had a great season such as the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets, Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic, Houston Rockets, and of course Kobe Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers.  But what will these championship caliber teams do to get back on their feet after having many of their star players contracts expire? Well if you take a peek at 2009’s free agent roster you will find that there are many great players being released. Any team can add one of these great players to their roster to rebuild their teams. The  2009 free agent roster consists of many big name players such as Ramon Sessions (Milwaukee Bucks), Jarret Jack (Indiana Pacers), Jason Kidd (Mavericks), Allen Iverson (Detroit Pistons), Lamar Odom (Los Angeles Lakers), Trevor Ariza (Los Angeles Lakers), Ron Artest (Houston Rockets), Andre Miller (Philadelphia 76ers), Shawn Marion (Toronto Raptors), Anthony Parker (Toronto Raptors), and Mike Bibby (Atlanta Hawks). Hedo Turkoglu was released from the Magic after having a great season and almost winning an NBA championship. He was originally supposed to be signed to the Portland Trailblazers but he had a change of heart and verbally committed to the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors have $48 million that they are willing to spend for the upcoming season but they have to make sure they have enough to sign their rookie draft pick Demar Derozen. Ben Gordon was released from the Chicago Bulls after almost leading his team to the defeat of the Boston Celtics. Ben says the Bulls never offered him a contract to sign back so he went with the first team that offered, the Detroit Pistons. He agreed to a five year deal worth $50 million. Next is Rasheed Wallace who was released from the Detroit Pistons and agreed to sign with the Boston Celtics on a two year deal for about $5.585 million. Jason Kidd was released from the Mavericks this year but was signed back for a three year deal worth $25 million. Charlie Villanueva was released from the Milwaukee Bucks and is signing along with Ben Gordon to the Detroit Pistons on a five year $40 million deal. The last agents are Ron Artest and Trevor Ariza .
