Matt Cassel had a great season in 2008. He played as the starting quarterback for the New England Patriots due to an all season injury of the original starting quarterback Tom Brady. He had only signed a one year deal for $14.561 million and was then traded to the Chiefs, along with a linebacker, for a second round draft pick. Now Cassel has worked out a deal with Chiefs that will sign him for six years. He will earn $60.3 million with $28 million guaranteed. The Chiefs staff is very excited about the new edition they will have for the next six years. They are anxious to see what he will bring to the team for upcoming seasons and how he will evolve.
