Last Friday, Houston Rocket’s Yao Ming announced that he would have the surgery to fix a broken bone in his left foot. The surgery took place on Tuesday July 21, at Memorial Hermann Hospital by the team’s physician, Dr. Tom Clanton, and Dr. Bill McGarvey. Doctors said the surgery was successful and that they were able to improve the stress pattern on his foot. Yao acquired this injury on May 8 in a playoff game against the Lakers. Yao will be put using a cast and crutches for atleast 6-8 weeks. He will not be able to return for the 09-10 season, but he will return for the following season. When Tracy Mcgrady returns later on this season, the Rockets will pick up from there. After all they do play better when either Yao or Tmac is injured.
