Home-Run Hype

Tonight 8ET on ESPN

The Home-Run Derby, one of the most anticipated events in baseball is happening tonight in St. Louis. You can bet the All-Stars will bring their big bats to the “Show me State” the only question is who can hit the long ball the most. Last year at Yankee Stadium Josh Hamilton left us in awe as to how he broke a record hitting 28 homers in the first round of the derby and still lost and in 2002 Sammy smacked a couple 500 footers and with this years line up I know I’m going to tune in. Albert Pujols seems to be the favorite in this event leading the rest of the pack with 32hrs for the season but his victory won’t come easy with the likes of 2006 Home-Run Derby winner Ryan Howard looking to reclaim his title. You also can count out Prince Fielder, Carlos Pena, Nelson Cruz, Adrian Gonzalez, or Brandon Inge being stiff competitors in the competition, but Joe Mauer being the only competitor not even past the 20hr mark for the season is sort of the Cinderella story of the competition. If you want to witness what could be a record breaking performance you should check it out tonight on ESPN at 8 ET.
